When I was a kid, I used to play around with my dad’s “Singer” sewing machine, a tailor by profession who crafted top-notch suits for men. I enjoyed customizing clothes for my dolls and felt proud to have something unique handmaded by me. I was so young when I first got into sewing that I couldn’t even reach the pedals of the machine! I used to sneakily use it when my dad wasn’t around because he worried I might get hurt or break it. But let’s say it, I always managed to find a way to use it, no matter what and a way to block it or breack the needle! 🤷‍♀️

Being passionate is great, but the technique is also fondamental to success. That’s why I decided to study fashion in early 2000s at the Fashion Institute in Albania to perfect my craft. I dreamed of being a stylist, so in 2012, I launched MAT, a creative lab that eventually evolved into an atelier where I used to design clothes for TV shows. In the meantime, I was also studying at University and eventually graduated with a degree in Economics, focusing on Accounting and Finance. This allowed me to confidently handle numbers, which played a crucial role in my business.

After a long journey in TV SHows and tailor-made clothing in Albania, I realized I needed to shake things up. I was craving that spark and excitement that comes with dreaming big. So, I made the decision to take my work to the next level and expand my horizons. That’s why I packed my bags and headed to Italy to study Fashion Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, and later at Polimoda in Florence, focusing on leather goods and luxury products.

“Taking care” of MAT brings me so much joy and fulfillment. I’ve decided to create this website and dedicate a blog category where I can tap into my emotions and creativity to share my passion. It’s been a rewarding journey, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me next!

I’ve always been drawn to beauty and find inspiration in shapes and textures. Colors, especially white, fascinate me because of its ability to contain all others. Adding a touch of black for contrast and mystery adds sophistication and allows me to express myself. I trust my instincts and continuously strive to improve and perfect my craft. I think fashion plays a significant role in our lives and has shaped humanity.

Developing our unique style is a great way to showcase our personality. Taking risks and persevering in the pursuit of our passion can lead to great rewards. Creativity is essential in today’s fast-paced world, so it’s important to not only have it but also know how to effectively utilize it.

The latest F/W 2020 capsule collection is all about looking towards the future and thinking outside the box. The clothes in this collection have unique shapes and are made from a mix of different materials to really make a statement. This collection is all about freedom, independence, and a touch of mystery without being too bold.

MAT’s futuristic and innovative style is perfect for those who are creative, strong, and ambitious. The clean lines of the clothing make it easy to wear and allows your personality to shine through naturally.
When it comes to choosing fabrics, it’s all about following instincts and falling in love with what you touch, the same love that I then try to convey in my collection, creating a connection with each piece.

MAT is like my own personal mirror, reflecting back to me the current state of my mind. It’s where I channel my energy, thoughts, and life experiences through creativity. I want others to embrace their true selves through fashion – blending current trends with their unique lifestyle.

To those new to the fashion scene, my advice is simple: keep growing, trust your instincts, and never shy away from trying new things. It’s not always smooth sailing in the fashion world, but that’s where the fun is!
This is what I’m doing for MAT: I’m takeing my time to grow and evolve, fueled by determination and perseverance. It’s a slow and steady journey to becoming the person I am today.
